One reading list. More ways to use it.
Read Aloud helps you listen to the text you bring with you: a document, a web article, a passage you copied, or your own writing. Its purpose is straightforward. Give those words a voice, keep the text close by, and make it easier to return to the material that matters to you.
The app is published on the App Store by APPSURGE. This is the website for app ID 6742852983. Several products use the words “read aloud”; the icon and App Store link on this site identify this particular app. We do not operate the similarly named browser extensions or other reading services.
What is available today
Read Aloud is available for iPhone and iPad. The download is free, with optional in-app purchases for additional features. The App Store lists current device compatibility and release information, while purchase screens in the app show the current plans for your region.
As of 26 September 2026, version 1.0.2 is the public release and version 1.0.3 is being prepared for submission. The screenshots on this site show the redesigned 1.0.3 app. Its updated library, import choices, and reading screens are previews; visitors who install today may see different screens. Android is in development and is not yet available on Google Play. We will replace the coming-soon label when a public download is available.
How we write the guides
The guides and journal articles are published by Read Aloud, so they describe the app from its developer’s perspective. App instructions are based on the current project, its genuine simulator captures, and the documented feature checks for the upcoming release. Where we discuss built-in iPhone features, we link to Apple’s own documentation.
We aim to explain the whole task: choosing a usable file, checking imported text, adjusting the voice, and knowing when listening is only part of the job. We do not claim that every PDF layout imports perfectly or that speech replaces looking at tables, illustrations, and formulas. We also do not make medical claims or promise a particular improvement in learning, reading speed, or productivity.

If a step does not match your app, include your app version, device model, and a description of what happened when you contact support. For document problems, describe the format and whether the text is selectable. Please do not send private documents unless they are needed and you are comfortable sharing them.
